Four Studies

For this assignment, I created four studies: realism, non-objective pattern, abstract texture, and mixed media.

The image above is representative of a lampshade I found while I was thrift-shopping

This pattern is inspired by the brain exhibit at the Franklin Museum, and was created by using the bottom of a rubber cement container.

This is my visual texture which is meant to represent bubbles. I created this by making the background and then hot-gluing coctail straws to the ground to imitate the bubbles when looking at it at eye-level. 

This is my mixed media, I used black and white paint, a stamp, the end of a paintbrush (to create dimension/line) and ink to illustrate the sides of the piece where the glaze didn't reach.
